MailSlurp is a transactional email service with API + SMTP and a delivery focus. It is solid for sending, with cost and dedicated infrastructure scaling with volume.
Verdict: MailSlurp is a capable transactional email API, though cost and delivery control improve only past the free tier.
Pros

Deliverability and inbox placement focus
Webhooks for opens, clicks, bounces
Cons
Free tiers are small (100s/day)
Pricing scales up fast at volume

## Wow, these people are terrible.
I signed up for a 7-day trial and was charged on what I believed was still the seventh day.
Since I never received a sign-up or trial confirmation email with the exact start and end time, I reached out to ask for clarification and requested the timestamp they were using to calculate the trial period.
Instead of receiving a professional explanation, I was met with rude and condescending responses.
After asking them to provide the trial timestamp, I received this reply:
"You're wasting all this time over $69 dollar - and you call yourself a creative agency.
What a loser.
You are now refunded and blocked.
Go away."
Whether their billing policy was technically correct or not, there is no excuse for speaking to a customer this way.
A simple explanation would have resolved the situation.
Instead, they chose insults and unprofessional behavior.
I ultimately received a refund, but only after being belittled for asking a reasonable question.
I cannot recommend a company that treats its customers with this level of disrespect.

We are genuinely surprised by this review.
This account was reviewed and closed under our terms after usage concerns were identified, and the related charge was refunded.
We do not agree with the way this has been characterized.

## Scammers: Account blocked, then charged, then excessive personal attack
After blocking my account for no reason, I was still charging me a $70 renewal fee a week later.
I emailed asking for a refund rather than go ahead and dispute.
I assumed that was a courtesy on my end (I should've just disputed), but I was instead attacked and told to "not threaten them again".
Final email from their side was too profane to quote here.

## Con Artists / Scammers
Subscribed to the Hobby Version because it was for hobby projects, randomly get a notification that they are upgrading me to "Pro" because it looks like I'm a business / commercial??
At this point I hadn't even used their service yet, now I'm randomly charged nearly 5x the original price of the subscription.
And the kicker is to dispute this they ask you to reply to a noreply notifications email.
Do not work with this fraud scam company based in Estonia where you cannot legally pursue them.
Update: They attempted to take down this reveiw for defamation and Trustpilot sided with me.

We are disappointed by this characterization.
The fact that Trustpilot did not remove the review does not validate the claim that MailSlurp is a fraud or scam.
This was a plan, usage, and billing enforcement issue handled under our terms.
We cannot discuss private account details publicly, but we strongly disagree with the fraud accusation and stand by our account review process.

## Extremely rude support, sudden account closure, no professionalism
I strongly advise you to stay away from MailSlurp.
They automatically upgraded my personal Starter plan to a Pro plan without asking me — just because my email domain looked “commercial”.
When I asked for a refund and explained that I paid personally, they didn’t fix anything.
Instead, they closed my account and refunded me with a message saying:
“You are too difficult for us to work with sorey.”
That’s not a joke.
That was their actual response.
This is by far the most unprofessional customer service I’ve ever seen.
If something goes wrong — you’ll be ignored or banned instead of helped.

We are sorry you were unhappy with the outcome.
Your account was reviewed under our plan and usage terms after commercial-use indicators were identified, and the account was refunded and closed.

Unlike MailSlurp, Sequenzy is designed for marketing and transactional delivery at scale, not testing.
...
Mailtrap is the most direct MailSlurp alternative - it started as an email testing tool and added production sending.
...
Resend is purpose-built for transactional email sending (password resets, receipts, notifications) with a developer experience that makes MailSlurp's sending API look dated.
...
If you've been using MailSlurp primarily for sending transactional emails (not testing), Resend is a more focused and developer-friendly option.
...
If you've outgrown MailSlurp's sending limits (5,000 outbound on Team plan) and need enterprise-scale delivery, SendGrid's infrastructure is battle-tested.
...
If you're using MailSlurp for transactional email sending and delivery speed matters, Postmark is the premium upgrade.

...
If you've been using MailSlurp for sending and now need marketing capabilities, Brevo offers everything in one platform at an affordable price.

At $0.09 per 1,000 emails after a free tier, the per-email cost is dramatically cheaper than MailSlurp for production volume.
...
